Who is this course for?
This qualification is for people working in a retail environment - whether it's a large national chain store, a corner shop or anything in between. This level is appropriate for sales advisers or similar roles. It is a very flexible qualification which can be tailored to meet the requirements of individual job roles.
What will I study on the course?
This programme will run on an individual basis and your assessor will guide you on how to build a portfolio of evidence which reflects your ability at work. The NVQ is related directly to your job role and helps you to reflect on your performance at work and review your working practices. It provides a personal development opportunity and enhances efficiency within your organisation. Candidates must achieve six units, four mandatory units plus two optional units.
How long will it take?
To achieve the NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Retail Skills it will take approximately 6 – 9 months by regular work place assessment visits by a qualified assessor.
What entry requirements are there?
No formal qualifications required, must be employed within a retail role.

The optional unit covers a wide variety of roles within the retail environment including sales; customer service; maintaining stock; promotion of products; stock display and visual merchandising; financial transactions and food preparation.
Your assessor will help you to identify the most appropriate units for your individual role.
