Managing Director Andy White was delighted with the results. “The hard work of our dedicated staff has been recognised. We set ourselves high standards and the report reflects this. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the LSC, our employers and learners; without strong partnerships none of this would be possible. Our learners have done themselves and the Centre proud.”
PGL commenced apprenticeship training in plumbing in 2005 with 10 learners and now has in excess of 100 apprentices on programmes in plumbing and electrotechnical services. In addition to apprenticeship training, the company delivers industry-specific short courses in plumbing, electrotechnical services and gas and has its own approved gas assessment centre for accreditation to Corgi standard. NVQs in brick-laying, electrotechnical services, floor and wall tiling, maintenance operations, painting and decorating, plastering, plumbing and wood occupations are also available.
New to the Centre are courses in solar energy and heat pumps. The investment in renewable energies has been supported by the Devon and Cornwall Learning and Skills Council and there are employer incentives available on request.
Having just moved to new purpose-built premises in Clyst Road, Topsham, PGL Training would like to invite employers, prospective learners and interested members of the public to their open day on Saturday 21 June 2008 from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. This will be an opportunity for everyone to view the state-of-the-art facilities and discuss the training available.
