Electrical NVQ Level 3 - EAL

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) recognise the abilities of individuals in the workplace. They are based on the competences required for employment which have been determined by the industry. These competences are known as national standards.

Course Content:

PGL Training will provide the following services to candidates: -

Guidance and support
Assessments
Verification
Registration

Training workshops are held at our local centre offering theory, underpinning knowledge, task assignments and candidate support. Training is structured around the relevant NVQ portfolio.

During the programme our Training Officer will visit each candidate in the workplace to review progress against their Individual Training Plan and liaise with mentors and supervisors. Guidance and support will be provided throughout the programme to enable ultimate achievement of the award.

The modules to be studied are: -

Unit 301 Ensure safe site working SEC3/001
Unit 302 Provide technical & functional information SEC3002
Unit 303 Maintain a healthy & safe working environment SEC3/004
Unit 304 Diagnose & correct faults in electrotechnical systems & equipment SEC3/011
Unit 305 Prepare to install electrical wiring systems, wiring enclosures and equipment SEC3/012
Unit 306 Install electrical wiring systems, wiring enclosures and equipment SEC3/013
Unit 307 Connect wiring systems & equipment using safe & approved methods SEC3/014
Unit 308 Inspect, test & commission an electrical installation SEC3/015

To achieve an NVQ Level 3 in electrical, the above 8 units must be achieved.

Course Assessment:

Assessments will take place at mutually agreed times to determine and confirm a candidate's progress and competence set against the national standards. This is achieved by two main methods: -

3) Formal observation in the workplace.
4) Examining other evidence compiled within candidate's portfolio e.g. witness statements, previous training received, reports and certificates of achievement.

On successful completion of a framework each candidate will be issued with certificates for their respective NVQ achieved.

Completion of the Technical Certificate Level 2 End Tests relating to specific modules will need to be achieved to enable certificate of the NVQ.

Entry Requirements:

Candidates must be in a work placement with a electrician who has at least a Level 2 qualification or successfully completed 5 years in the work place.

Please note:-

. New Entrants - defined as candidates with limited experience of the electrical industry (e.g. Modern Apprentices, unemployed candidates, mature workers wishing to re-train in Electrical MUST complete a technical certificate programme either prior to, or at the same time as the NVQ programme. . Existing Workers - defined as candidates wishing to upgrade previously acquired electrical qualifications or electricaians who do not have a formal qualification but have completed a minimum of 5 years work experience in the Industry should access the NVQ directly

Cost: £1,870.00 + VAT plus examination and certification cost of £130.00

Or

If a combination of both Electrical NVQ and Technical Certificate taken the cost is £4,000.00 + VAT, plus examination and certification cost of £300.00

Or

Completion of the 2330 previously and just the NVQ only required Cost £1200.00 + VAT
