City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Basic Construction Skills Each qualification is expected to provide an introduction to particular craft skills in construction including: Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Woodworking (Furniture Making or Carpentry and Joinery), Plastering, Bricklaying and Multi-crafts. In particular, they are suited to those candidates who are unable to access NVQs or construction awards. They are considered developmental qualifications (tasters) for new entrants to the construction industry.
