Who is the course for?
This distance learning course is designed for adults who are employed in the electrical industry or those who wish to enter the electrical contracting industry. This course is ideal to help you get on the right path to becoming a qualified electrician.
What will I study?
Together with previously completed Level 2, this course provides the theory and underpinning knowledge you will need to become a competent electrician. It should be noted that this course can not provide you with the practical hands-on experience you will need to complete the NVQ 3.
This course covers the following 2330 level 3 Units:
How will I be assessed?
Each of the above units is assessed by an on-line multi-choice or written examination set and marked by City & Guilds. Exams and practical assessment will be made available on a regular basis.
Will this course lead to a qualification?
On successful completion of the exams you will receive a certificate of unit accreditation towards your full 2330 qualification. Completion of the practical assignment at a later date will automatically provide the full 2330 level 3 award.
What makes this course special?
This course is studied from home using specially designed work books. A series of tutor marked assignments provides feedback on your progress. In addition, the course is supported by e-mail, telephone and designated
advice and guidance sessions.
What will I need for the course?
There are no particular qualifications required by City & Guilds but GCSE C grades in English, Mathematics and a Science subject would be an advantage. You will also need practical experience in order to complete the 2330 practical assignments which cannot be covered by distance learning.
What next?
At some time in the future you may also consider completing an NVQ in the work place to provide you with approved status.
How long does it last?
The course normally takes 12 months to complete.
